There's hope for health.

Personalized medicine means making treatment for each person, as individualized as the manifestation of the disease. It allows accurate predictions to be made about a person's

  • Susceptibility of developing a disease

  • The course of the disease

  • Response to treatment

People vary from one another in many ways - what they eat, the lifestyle choices they make, the types and amount of stress they experience, exposure to environmental factors, their DNA and gene expression. Many of these variations play a role in health and disease. People also have different cultural experiences and values, these should all be included in your medical team's decision-making process. Personalized medicine also allows your physician to focus their attention on what makes you "you", instead of abiding by generalities. Because the average is not enough.

Smart Technology can be used to focus on healthy habits. Many of the diseases that impact patients most are the result of decisions made over a lifetime, such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. Wearable technology can be programmed to help wearers track their healthy decisions and set goals. “This can go a long way toward the prevention of these diseases before someone gets sick,” said Robert Havasy, senior director of connected health at HIMSS. It can also provide just-in-time coaching that is important for habit forming, including meal plans, step counting, sleep scheduling and stress management.

Functional medicine is a the future of conventional medicine today. It now takes on average, 17 years for clinical research to become conventional practice. This means that the standard approach has only just entered the twenty-first century. Functional medicine uses a systems biology approach (incorporating the latest scientific research), that focuses on how your body's systems work together as a whole. Symptoms can come from many root causes, and root causes can cause many symptoms. Functional medicine practitioners are medical detectives focused on finding the root cause(s). In addition to your history; advanced diagnostics, genomics, microbiome or other advanced testing is utilized to drill down and find your individualized root cause(s). A personalized plan is developed with you by your practitioner, a plan so you can work together as a team to restore yourself back to health.

At Ivine Health we have created a set of A.I tools which are used to generate a matrix of each patient's core functional nodes and assign scores to each node, this is combined with what a patient values as most important or urgent, to guide the sequence of care. Practitioners in the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) are members of a strong community focused on developing evidence based medicine and sharing expertise using the functional medicine approach to healthcare. We are able to leverage this network and implement more effective and comprehensive, treatment plans.
